We set ourselves apart from our competition by attracting, developing and retaining team members who are committed to providing unparalleled service to our customers. From day one of training, our technicians are challenged to meet our high standards.

Prior to entering the field, technicians are required to complete a comprehensive five-week training program. In addition to instruction in the classroom, technicians get hands-on field experience with a certified trainer. All employees go through a national background check, motor vehicle check and pre-employment drug screen as well as random drug screens.

AM Communications believes that safety is everyone’s responsibility. We provide our team with the knowledge, tools and resources necessary to operate and complete their work in a safe manner.

Our internal training program was developed using federal and industry guidelines from organizations such as OSHA. Our safety materials are regularly updated, and changes are communicated to our team through monthly safety meetings and mandatory training sessions. We also create individualized safety training modules for specific projects. Key items included in our training program include:

  • Safety and technical course materials in accordance with NCTI and SCTE standards.
  • Classroom training to establish proper safety habits and knowledge, basic installation skills and to provide a controlled hands-on learning environment.
  • Throughout the training program there are key checkpoints at which an individual is tested and assessed. Testing is completed online and tracked using an internal database.


The AM Communications team of elite traveling technicians are experienced with launching new markets and new products. Last year alone, our team visited hundreds of thousands residential and commercial accounts. We provide the scalable resources so that our technicians can continue to exceed customer expectations.

AM Communications has a company-owned fleet of new and late model vehicles. Our ongoing relationship with a fleet leasing and procurement company allows us the flexibility to add vehicles to meet our growth requirements. All vehicles are equipped with the tools our employees need to get the job done right.

With a combined total of more than 60 years of industry experience, our senior management team knows how to fulfill our customers’ needs and reach our goals. Our backgrounds range from small businesses to large corporations, providing us with a variety of perspectives. As a company, we strive to be the best at the services we perform, and we are determined to grow and diversify in the telecommunications industry.

Alan MillerCEO/President
Alan founded AM Communications in 2002, providing installation services for the Mid-Ohio Time Warner Cable division.
In the early days, Alan performed all functions of the business – and with a culture focused on providing exceptional service, it didn’t take long for the business to expand beyond Ohio into multiple states.
As the company grew, Alan recruited and mentored an executive team with strong industry experience to ensure the company’s continued success, expansion, and solid reputation.
Nicia CaryVice President, Human Resorces
Nicia works closely with other senior managers, the operations team, and employees to ensure a professional and compliant work environment while supporting strategic operational needs.
Before joining the AM Communications team, Nicia’s industry experience included seven years with Broadband Installations Services. She also has human resources experience in the manufacturing and higher education segments.
Nicia holds a BSBA in Human Resources from The Ohio State University and a SPHR Certification from SHRM.
Nick QuintelRegional Manager
In addition to managing the company’s Michigan market operations, Nick is also responsible for Special Projects and Business Solutions at AM Communications.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Nick made two deployments during his time of military service. He went on to join the AM Communications team in 2013 as an Operations Manager. Today, he brings the skills he developed in the Navy to his role as a Regional Operations Manager.

Jeff SavnikRegional Manager
Jeff is responsible for day-to-day operations in the Northern an Southern Ohio markets for AM Communications. After beginning his career in the cable industry as a field technician in 2006 Jeff joined the AM Communications team in 2010. In his cable career, he has held various positions, including Field Technician, QC Technician, Lead Technician, Field Supervisor, and Operations Manager. In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, and has a passion for cheering on the Cleveland Indians.
Kevin DawsonController
Kevin is responsible for oversight of all accounting and financial aspects of the business, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and more.
Kevin started his career at DeVilbiss Automotive Refinishing, a unit of Illinois Tool Works, a Fortune 200 company. He was initially hired as a Jr. Accountant, and earned multiple promotions to Financial Analyst, Marketing Analyst and eventually Accounting Manager.
Kevin earned undergraduate degrees in Finance and Accounting from The University of Toledo.
